EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME

i am so happy i finally got to see the weeknd live and it was the least disappointing thing ever. he really lived up to the impossible standards i had before and even exceeded them. HIS VOCALS???? AMAZING. even after the whole lost voice thing. ALSO THE LIGHTINGGGGGGG. my original section was turned into a lighting setup so i had to move to a different one (the staff provided us with tickets dw) and it was a better view and it was so worth it. BEST LIGHT SHOW OF ALL TIME. all my concert videos are just me screaming it was so fun. the only con is the merch cost me an arm and a leg

The Weekend Concert, Vancouver, BC

This was just an average show. The Weekend didn’t interact with the audience very much and there were no opening acts other than a couple of DJs that were also average. That means the vast majority of the audience sat pretty bored from 6:30pm - 9:30pm when the Weekend actually took the stage. I paid for a VIP experience and what I thought were great seats close to the stage. Turned out my view was HEAVILY obstructed by the stage itself, seats were flimsy, drink and food choices for floor seating was embarrassingly sparse and hard to get to. Did receive a cheap T-shirt and a small cardboard poster as part of my VIP experience. In comparison to other concerts I’ve been to, this one was again substandard.

Concert Played Ads for almost an Hour…

The Weeknd’s performance itself was amazing; however, the ticket mentioned doors open at 5:00 and the show starts at 6:30. The Weeknd didn’t start playing until 9:15pm almost three hours after “starting time” they had a opener play some weird house music for about 45 minutes, then another opener played the same style house music for another 45 minutes then they showed us crypto ads and Samsung phone app ads for another 45 minutes. Before the ads came on they’d turn the lights off and back in with the weekends music and it made people think the weekend was coming out like 3-4 times, which was a huge disappointment. It was kinda ridiculous… the ticket didn’t note the two openers and how long they’d be performing. It should note things like that e because I feel like I wasted a lot of time listening to the openers who I personally did not enjoy.
